NEW YORK (AP) - The drama on the upcoming season of "Gene Simmons Family Jewels": adoption. The seventh season will deal with Shannon Tweed -- now Mrs. Gene Simmons -- wanting to adopt a child. Simmons and their two kids are against it. The season premieres May 28 on A&E.

NEW YORK (AP) - Lynyrd Skynyrd are picking up a new band member for their upcoming album. Original Black Crowes member Johnny Colt will take over bass duties for the band. They will release an album called "Last of a Dying Breed" on August 21. They will begin a tour tomorrow in Baltimore.

GREGG ALLMAN PASSES HEART TESTS

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Gregg Allman is good to go on his book tour after he passed his heart tests. Allman experienced arrhythmia after a recent hernia surgery that's related to his liver transplant two years ago. His publicists say he had heart tests done in Jacksonville, Florida, on Friday and was cleared. Allman's book, "My Cross To Bear," came out this week. He will start a book tour Tuesday in Atlanta.

TED NUGENT INSULTED AT ARMY POST CANCELLATION

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Ted Nugent is calling it an insult. The rock star has had a concert at an Army post canceled - over comments he made recently about President Barack Obama. Nugent was to perform at Fort Knox in Kentucky in June, but the invite was pulled after Nugent told an NRA meeting he'd be "dead or in jail by this time next year" if Obama is re-elected. Some took the comment as some kind of threat against Obama. But Nugent denies this. The Secret Service met with Nugent over his comments - and closed its case about the remarks. Nugent says for "a bureaucrat" in the U.S. Army to take back his invitation over the comments "defiles the sacrifices" of those who fought for the country.

TED NUGENT TO PLEAD GUILTY TO ILLEGALLY KILLING BLACK BEAR

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Ted Nugent's latest battle will be in a courtroom - and is legal, not political. The rock star is to plead guilty today to transporting a black bear he illegally killed. Nugent won't be in court in Alaska, but will participate by phone.He has already reached a plea deal with federal prosecutors - saying he illegally shot the bear to death in May, 2009. He had already wounded a bear in a bow hunt - which meant he was over his limit of one bear per season in that area.

Last week, Nugent drew the attention of the Secret Service after he made comments at a rally for GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney that appeared to threaten the life of President Barack Obama. Nugent says he didn't threaten anyone. And the Secret Service says the issue's resolved.

RUSH EXPLAIN "HEADLONG FLIGHT"

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Rush singer Geddy Lee says the original title of their new single, "Headlong Flight," was "Take That Lampshade Off Yo Head!" Lee says he and guitarist Alex Lifeson were jamming at his house and came up with that song, then forgot about it. Lee says it was supposed to be an instrumental, but drummer Neal Peart came up with lyrics about his former drum teacher. Peart says his teacher wished he could do it all over again -- but Peart says he's glad he himself doesn't have to do it all over again, and that's the point of the song. Their album, "Clockwork Angels," comes out June 12. The band has announced a tour that begins September 7 in Manchester, New Hampshire.

SECRET SERVICE SAYS CASE IS CLOSED ON TED NUGENT

NEW YORK (AP) - The Secret Service says it's closed its case on Ted Nugent's comments on President Barack Obama. A Secret Service spokesman says the issue has been resolved and no further action is anticipated. Nugent drew criticism for comments he made in support of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney at a National Rifle Association meeting in St. Louis last weekend. He had said of the Obama administration, "We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November." Nugent also had said he would be "dead or in jail by this time next year" if Obama is re-elected. Nugent says in a statement he did not threaten anyone or advocate violence, and "Metaphors needn't be explained to educated people." Meanwhile, Nugent has been removed from the lineup of a concert at Fort Knox, Kentucky, on June 23.

MATT SORUM CLARIFIES DRUG COMMENTS MADE AT ROCK HALL INDUCTION

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Even though drummer Matt Sorum says he's done talking about Guns N' Roses, he actually has a little more to say on the matter. Sorum wants to clarify his comments made the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions on Saturday. Sorum had said in his speech that Slash called him because the band kicked out Steven Adler for doing too many drugs, and Sorum's response was how was that even possible with Guns N' Roses. Sorum says he meant that to be lighthearted, and he wants to clarify that Adler attended Saturday's ceremony "healthy and ready to rock." Sorum says they were "all full-blown drug addicts when the band split."

ARREST MADE IN TOM PETTY GUITAR THEFTS

CULVER CITY, Calif. (AP) - A suspect has been arrested in connection with the disappearance of five guitars belonging to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Police in Culver City, California, won't give any other details, except to say the instruments have been found. The guitars were stolen Thursday from a rehearsal space.
